GREEN TEA

Green tea is one of the most studied and used botanical ingredients. It is interesting for its content in polyphenols, and more specifically in catechins with EGCG (EpiGalloCatechin Gallate), ECG (EpiCatechin Gallate), GCG (GalloCatechin Gallate) and EGC (EpiGallo Catechin). This gives it properties:
  • Antioxidants (anti aging)
Green tea polyphenols are powerful antioxidants which help protect against free radicals. In addition, some studies have shown that green tea could be photoprotective: reduces irritation and redness of the skin caused by UV.
  • Anti-inflammatories
Green tea catechins are not only antioxidants, they also have anti-inflammatory properties. This makes green tea an excellent choice for sensitive, rosacea or acne-prone skin.
  • Antimicrobials

A property that can be interesting for acne-prone skin.
