Phytosterole

Phytosterols, also called plant sterols, are natural compounds found in plants. Phytosterols are present in many foods of plant origin such as nuts, seeds, green vegetables, fruits and vegetable oils.

Phytosterols have several health-promoting properties, including lowering blood cholesterol levels and helping to prevent cardiovascular disease. In cosmetics, they are used for their anti-aging, moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Phytosterols:

  • strengthen the skin barrier
  • help prevent skin dehydration
  • also have anti-inflammatory properties that reduce redness and inflammation of the skin.
  • stimulate the production of collagen and thus improve the elasticity and firmness of the skin.
