ARBUTIN

Arbutin is a derivative of hydroquinone naturally present in certain plants such as blueberries, lingonberries or bearberry.

It is used to reduce the appearance of dark spots and age-related skin imperfections. It works by inhibiting the production of melanin in the skin, which is responsible for pigmentation and the formation of dark spots. By reducing the production of melanin, arbutin helps to even out skin tone and therefore give it the appearance of younger, brighter skin.

Arbutin also has antioxidant properties, which means it helps protect the skin against damage caused by free radicals, which are unstable molecules produced by UV rays and other environmental factors. Free radicals can damage skin cells, leading to signs of premature aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles.
